Chronic Disease Prevention
Chronic diseases are the leading causes of death in the United States and are prevalent amongst Asian American (AA) populations. Among AAs, heart disease and diabetes rank among the top five leading causes of death. Linguistic and cultural barriers frequently prevent AAs from accessing health and healthcare resources. Recognizing these barriers, AAFH aims to increase and improve chronic disease education and self-management among AA populations through in- language animated videos.
AAFH has secured 60% of the funding needed for each in- language animated video. With your donation, we can complete the production (translation, adaptation and voice-over) of the videos and help individuals living with chronic diseases to manage their condition and improve their quality of life.
